Our Client, Cathy Windland, In Her Own Words...
Most of us don't think about needing an attorney until we're involved in a situation that calls for one. By the time we get to that point, we may not be able to think clearly to call the right one. That's why I''d like to share my story about my attorney and friend, Scott Fegley.
In August 2006, my world was turned upside down when a truck driver made a careless error in judgment and turned across my husband's lane of traffic. This fatal accident could have been avoided, but it wasn't. At the time, I had no way of knowing just how much and what kind of help I would need in the weeks and months to come. Without a moment's hesitation, Scott stepped in and began helping me figure out my next steps. He was there through it all, treating me with care and dignity so that I never felt as though my husband's life was without meaning.
During the months to follow, Scott kept me informed with as much information as I wanted to know; he never withheld anything or shared what I thought was too difficult to handle. Whenever new evidence surfaced, he followed it without ceasing and found everything that was needed to bring my case to a successful and peaceful close. He always made me feel part of the process, even though I wasn't the one doing the work.
The outcome of the case was in my favor, and after seeing Scott in action, I am convinced that he is the kind of lawyer that cares about the person, not just the case. Because of his professional attention to details, his caring attitude, and his willingness to see the people affected by this tragedy, I can honestly say that Scott is an attorney with integrity who knows how to get the job done. He and his team are forthright, caring and beyond reproach in all they do.
Thank you, Scott, for making a difficult time in the lives of me and my children a little easier to bear. God bless you!
Note: Cathy lost her husband, Dave, in a tragic motor vehicle accident on August 10, 2006.
The case settled after mediation on December 17, 2007, fourteen months after the accident and about a year from the date the lawsuit was filed. A trial was scheduled to begin January 7, 2008. At Cathy's request, the amount of the settlement will be kept confidential.
Although I did not know Dave very well, I have known Cathy through the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce for almost six years. I consider it the most valued trust and the most humbling responsibility to have Cathy place her family's well-being in my hands.

Our Hats’ Off To Real Heroes!
On April 10, 2008, our firm's client, the Center for Independent Living of Bucks County, was among the recipients of the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter's Real Heroes Awards. The Red Cross recognized CILBC for its ongoing work providing disabled residents of Bucks County with support, advocacy, and independent life skills training.
To date, CILBC has provided 13% of Bucks County's disabled residents with referrals, counseling, advocacy and training with everything from money management to job interviewing. An estimated 85,000 Bucks County residents suffer from a disability. CILBC reached the 13% mark in under three years with a paid staff of just five employees and a handful of dedicated volunteers. All of the services they offer are free. CILBC is supported through state grants and fundraising.
Perhaps the most important feature of CILBC is the fact that many of CILBC's staff and volunteers are disabled themselves. CILBC's by-laws require it. Unlike other government and social service agencies, clients of CILBC know they will receive treatment with dignity from someone who has walked with their braces. CILBC staff themselves have experienced the challenges and frustrations of living in a world that seldom accommodates persons with disabilities and often discriminates against them.
We are pleased to join the American Red Cross in recognizing the outstanding work of the Center for Independent Living of Bucks County. For more information on CILBC or its services, contact the Executive Director, Ginny Fiorentine, at (215) 752-7101. CILBC's offices are located at the One Oxford Valley office building by the Oxford Valley Mall.
